Import/Export Specialist

Job Description
- Analyze import and export documentation for outgoing/ incoming shipments to ensure overall compliance and prepare documentation (SED, CI, P/L, Carnets etc.)
- Track and report the status of all import and export shipments
- Track and maintain records and reports of equipment
- Provide shipping documentation in accordance with the terms customer, purchase order/contracts
- provide shipment notifications and pre-alerts for all international shipments for clearance
- Analyze ways to prepare and reduce shipping costs of customs duty
- Draft and monitor 232 Exclusions
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related experience
- Customs Broker license preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with the EAR, US Customs, HTS, Schedule B, etc.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, supply chain, purchasing, and logistics documentation
- Previous experience with 232 Exclusions
- Understands US Commerce’s Export Administration Regulations (EAR), HTS, 232/301 Tariffs, and applicable exemptions/exceptions
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Working knowledge using MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AES filing and AES reporting
- Can demonstrate thinking outside-of-the -box
- Ability to assess risks and shipping U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
- Occasionally required to travel within and outside the Continental U.S.
