IT Support Specialist
$26- $28/hr. | Gulf Freeway Houston, Tx
Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm

A major residential home builder is seeking an IT Support Specialist to troubleshoot and support the home builder’s field representatives, corporate office personnel, and management’s laptops, desktops, Windows interfaces, cell phones, and iPad. As the IT Support Specialist, you will also troubleshoot printers, copiers, scanners, phones, projectors monitors, and conference room equipment. and other networking equipment as needed in an air conditioning environment.
IT Support Specialist’s Responsibilities:
- Provide corporate, sales, and construction users with technical support on-site, and at remote construction sites, over the phone, via email, or by utilization of remote assistance tools
- Provide technical support for internet and network-related issues; troubleshoot and report outages to internet service providers
- Provide technical support for AV equipment, Windows, laptops, cell phones, iPads and tablets
- Set up computers for deployment by means of company-approved configuration
- Perform computer repairs, correct printing and scanning issues, and address network outages
- Provide technical support for in-house applications and leading software programs such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, AutoCAD, Architecture, 3ds MAX, Civil 3D, Design Review, Adobe Creative Suite, and BlueBeam Revu
- Participate and assist in hardware and software rollout projects
- Assess the severity of network problems and communicate to the Service Desk team
- Provide new hires with a basic introduction to hardware and software
- Assist with auditing and managing computers, routers, switches, internet lines, and wireless cards
IT Support Specialist’s Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in IT or a related field preferred
- 3 years of relevant IT experience required
- Understanding of IT Helpdesk practices with a strong emphasis on customer service
- Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, and basic networking
- Understanding of network wiring and small office network configurations
- Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and repair
- Support experience setting up and troubleshooting HP, Xerox, and Sharp copiers
- Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Current, valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Occasionally be required to stand and move up to 40 pounds
