Outside Field Collector
$35,360/$17/hr. | Loop Central Drive
40-hour weeks, including rotating Saturdays

Do you enjoy finding payment options and solutions to resolve issues? We’re seeking an Outside Field Collector to collect outstanding/delinquent property tax from taxpayers. Contacting property owners over the phone and in person to collect property taxes, documenting all steps performed, and taking appropriate action to enforce collection. The ideal candidate will have legal or collections experience and a clean driving record.
Please note: This is a driving position. Insurance coverage will not be required during the contracting phase. The temporary employee will not be required to drive during the temp assignment.
Therefore, the following is required:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proof of insurance on a personal vehicle that they will be driving for work
Field Property Tax Collector’s Responsibilities and Daily Duties:
- Report and evaluate delinquent tax roll
- Make collection calls to delinquent taxpayers (MUST AVERAGE 50 PER DAY)
- Collect taxes over the phone and in person
- Document all activities in the appropriate system(s)
- Plan efficient travel routes to field calls
- Monitor payments
- Research the status of corporate entities
- Perform research to determine proper ownership of the business
- Conduct a minimum of 3 field inspections per day
- Skip tracing delinquent accounts
- Manage time efficiently so that all goals are met without incurring
- overtime
- Process payments, set up payment plans, follow up on accounts, monitor agreements
Field Collector’s Requirements:
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proof of insurance on a personal vehicle when driving
- MVR Background check, employees must have a CLEAN DRIVING RECORD
- Legal or Collections experience
- Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Must be able to navigate around the city and get in and out of a vehicle multiple times a day in various weather conditions
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, persuasive, and have strong negation skills possess good grammar, spelling, and analytical skills to converse with the public
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, clients, and taxpayers
- Must possess basic legal knowledge, especially regarding corporate
- Research and must be able to understand, interpret and follow written and/or oral instructions
- Accurate typing 45+ wpm
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and insurance
- Available to rotate working Saturdays
- Some college coursework preferred
