Job Description
- Provide timely and accurate spiritual/religious/interfaith information to the care team and care recipients
- Follow the guidelines, policies, procedures, and standard of care as enumerated in institutional policy and department standards of practice
- Collaborate with and provides support to community faith group leaders
- Provides professional development to the chaplain and spiritual care teams
- Develops and implement methods to measure the effectiveness of the Chaplain educational program
- Uses outcome evaluations to improve educational services and to design education system changes
- Seeks best practices, primary research, and research literature that informs the ministry specialty care practice
- Provides leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs
- Carries out an education ministry to the Spiritual Team
- Provides thorough guidance and advice to Chaplain Service management staff, students, and chaplains
- Serves as a certified educator and provides administrative oversight and programmatic resources and monitors educational outcomes
- Master's Degree equivalent (Or) Master of Divinity 4 Units, CPE certified by ACPE and Board Certified Chaplain or eligible for certification within one year
- Experience and understanding of Hospital Chaplain experience and in Healthcare.
- Flexible to work on weekends if needed
- Strong leadership, counseling, and human relations skills
- Experience serving as a Chaplain Clinical Pastoral Educator (CPE) performing senior-level clinical assignments for a hospital/medical center, etc.
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Compassion, understanding of diversity, and being sensitive and aware of all religions
- Military chaplain experience, social worker, patient care or behavior analysis a huge plus
