Benefits Administrator
$30/hr. | Katy, TX
Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Temporary Contract March – July
 
Due to a staff FMLA leave, our client is requesting assistance in their benefits department for major retail sporting goods store off 1-10 near Katy. This is a contract position through the end of July.  The Benefits Administrator will support the benefits department by assisting with personnel audits, helping with insurance questions, handling vendor relationships, and supporting the benefits enrollment period. 
 
Benefits Administrator Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships
  • Manage the Benefits Advocate Training Center processes and serve as the primary contact 
  • Research and resolve escalated healthcare and insurance issues with staff
  • Monitor the benefit programs under the general guidance of benefits and HR leadership
  • Manage the direct bill premium process  
  • Review and/or approve pending transactions in the benefits enrollment system
  • Manage the QMSCO process and communicate with state agencies to ensure compliance
  • Support the administration of  401K plan and maintain 401K broker and vendor
  • relationship(s)
  • Conduct applicable compliance audits such as 5500, SOC, SAR, etc and  monitor compliance 
  • Develop relationships while providing outstanding customer service
 Requirements/Education/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of study or 2 years of related work experience required
  • 2 years of working with benefits, insurance and enrollment plans
  • Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Accurate data entry 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage difficult and stressful situations.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office programs and software
  • Have an understanding and application of: HIPPA, FMLA, ADA, USERRA, ERISA, DOL
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with
  • individuals at various levels
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving, time management and priority-setting skills
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain organized, pay attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines
