Accounting Specialist

Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $25 / hour + conditional (based on personal and company performance) year-end bonus of $25 per closed house

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm 

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Home builder in the Fort Worth area is looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries 
• Reconcile bank statements 
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts 
• Run Cost of Goods at Month-End 
• Review and Close Jobs monthly 
• Process and post cash receipts 
• Prepare and distribute financial statements 
• Assist Controller – update draw schedule, closing list, and financial statements 
• Process vendor 1099’s at Year-End 
• Assist in month & year end closing as needed 
• Assist with other projects as needed 

Experience/Education Required:

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance or 2+ years of experience as a staff accountant 
• High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred 
• Possess a strong work ethic 
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral 
• Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail skills, professional attitude, reliable, and self starter 
• Proficient in Excel and Word 
• Possess strong organizational & time management 
• Strong problem-solving skills, research and resolution skills, & data analysis 
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP, general ledger, and financial chart of accounts 
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment 
• Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately
