Accounts Receivable Legal Clerk
$16 - $17/hr.  |  San Felipe
Monday – Friday
Temporary Opportunity
 
We are looking for an organized and efficient Accounts Receivable Legal Clerk to assist a nonprofit organization that works with refugees. The A/R Legal Clerk will assist in maintaining the Accounts Receivable (A/R) system for a nonprofit Family Program center located on San Felipe Blvd. The A/R Legal Clerk is also responsible for maintaining financial records and processing financial transactions, monitoring and dispensing petty cash, updating invoices, accepting payments, and storing, tracking, and distributing client filing fees to the appropriate staff member upon submission of legal applications. This is a contract position.
 
A/R Legal Clerk General Duties:
  • Collect client payments, create credit memos, post payments, and produce an income report monthly
  • Process client payments for legal services and monitor and dispense petty cash to make change for clients 
  • Maintain invoices, cash receipts, answer questions regarding clients' accounts, and make collection calls 
  • Safekeep, track, process, and distribute client filing fees
  • Create invoices in LawLogix for monthly E-filings for litigation expenses
  • Conduct reconciliation of cash receipts 
  • Communicates any discrepancies or pending payments to the business manager 
  • Process timesheets, expense reports, invoices, check requests, and out-of-city travel reports.
  • Assist with billing report statement from LawLogix and coordinates with staff to properly distribute case fees
  • Provide data and statistical information for a grant, contract, and other reporting purposes
 What You Will Need:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of experience working in accounts-related functions
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to set multitasks, and work under pressure
  • Proficient in MS Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
  • Demonstrates multicultural skills and sensitivity
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
  • Fully Vaccinated COVID – provide a Record
